Over the past few weeks, something has stirred in my spirit—a gentle but undeniable reminder: we were made for more.

My husband and I have been walking through a new rhythm of life. The kids are grown, the house is quieter, and our daily routines feel different. But rather than retreating into that silence, we’ve leaned into the Lord. We've led small groups at our church, walked alongside a dear friend transitioning back into life after hardship, and spent time recording legacy stories—real testimonies of God’s hand in our lives and others'.

We all admire Jesus for His teaching, miracles, and sacrificial love, but there’s another side of His ministry that’s quietly powerful: He served. He welcomed. He noticed people others ignored. And He didn’t wait until it was convenient.

There comes a time in midlife when the familiar rhythms begin to fade. The house is quieter. The career that once defined you no longer fills your soul. The kids are grown—or maybe life threw you a curveball through loss, illness, or a change you never expected. And now, you find yourself asking, Who am I now? What am I meant to do next?

We often picture poverty as a lack of money, food, and shelter. But what if it’s deeper than that?

It’s a sobering thought: one day, Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats—not by beliefs we’ve claimed or songs we’ve sung, but by what we did for those in need. Jesus paints the picture clearly in Matthew 25.
